Suppose, one committed a crime and for one or two years he was sentenced to life. For a judge, there should be a question of who committed the crime — a body or a soul. As the body changes moment by moment and till the time of final judgment the physical body of the criminal will not be the same as it was when he committed the crime. Every cell and tissue of the body may have been renewed. The skin may be aged. The hairs may have been ripe and turned gray. Again the question who are you- a body or a soul? If the punishment went to the body that is completely an injustice because it happened to a body that is not what it was when it committed the crime. It means the crime was committed by the soul rather than the physical body.
